Walking on Gozo
There are a variety of country and coastal walks on and around Gozo, and we recommend walking boots and a pole or walking stick if you are wanting to explore the country routes.
Some of the best walks take in stunning views from the coastline, particularly over Comino and Malta when walking the coastline from our village towards Mgarr.
For a small island, Gozo has an extraordinarily large and interesting selection of flora and fauna and bird life from the common Sparrow to African Flamingos being sighted.
Some of the routes are not for the faint hearted, so we can pack you off with a good lunch to see you through.
But the variation is wide, from ambling strolls through quiet villages, watching spectacular sunsets to arduous climbs with spectacular views across the Mediterranean and occasions whereby you round a corner and an unexpected vista takes your breath away.
The island has about 43 kilometres of coastline to explore, some 13 villages where you can watch Gozitan locals gathering in the late sunshine to chat or participate in their traditional lace making, spectacular churches with amazing architecture, cobbled back streets, winding paths, beaches and bars all waiting to be discovered.
